Does anyone know of a company that makes 3-pt Quick Hitch Conversion Adapters? Say from Cat I to II... and also a Cat II to I? Would be nice to be able to move equipment around with either setup.

From Cat II to Cat I you should be able to find sleeves to fit over the pins of Cat I pins thus making them the size of Cat II pins.

From Cat I to Cat II? Can you get new ball ends for your tractor?

Because all the dimentions change, that really isn't a practical thing.

You could stick a cat 1 quick hitch on a cat 2 tractor, with the shim sleeves it would work on most. And, you can put a cat 2 quick hitch on most cat 1 tractors, by using smaller pins than the quick hitch came with. This would leave a lot of slop & wear in the quick hitch, unless you got shims that fit - would need 6 short ones.

Some old quick hitches actually can be taken apart & rebolted to the next size - this is typically for cat 2/ cat 3 sizes, as they have the 'narrow' options which makes so much stuff cross-compatable. But, you need to take off, dismantle, reassember, & put back on.

I don't see any easy way to make a quickhitch reconfigure itself on the fly.

Pat's Easy system, with Cat 2 bolted on the arms might be as close as you get. Use the shims on cat 1 stuff. Or does Pat's cat one have enough oversize to squeeze a cat 2 pin into it?

Here was some info on the various quick hitches on the JD Parts site that brought up the idea of finding some adapter between them... Link

For example, if the CAT 1 width is 27-1/8-in and the I wanted to then use the CAT 2 quick-coupler, well it is set at 32-3/4-in, so if an adapter was fabricated with the Cat 1 width on the tractor side and the CAT 2 on the implement side, then they would line up better. Same could be done in reverse with the CAT 2 on the tractor side with the Cat 1 on the implement side.

Guess some enterprising welder/fabricator could fill this void in the market if no one has seen such a thing.

I see what you are getting at, but if I want to mount 4 implements today, and the 2nd one is cat 2, other 3 are cat 1 - I would spend more time taking on & off the converter - it would be worthless. I would just use the regular 3pt arms as they are, & hook up to all 4 implements. Not waste time with the converter. In general, most all cat1 & 2 implements will fit on a cat 1 or 2 tractor. Mostly. As is, no converter or quick hitch needed.

If you have to take it off & on, it becomes pointless.

Pat's Cat 2 bottom links would fill the bill - use sleeves on all your cat 1 implements - or replace the pins with cat 2 pins. And you would have a simple system, not something you need to take on & off all the time.
