Went to use my rotary cutter and the 3 point won't raise and lower it. I checked the adjustment dial under the seat that controls the pressure of the 3 pt hitch. That didn't work.
I saw a dark puddle on the ground under the "passenger" side of the tractor where the hydraulic valve is located.
The nut was loose on one of the hoses so tightened it. The hydraulic oil filter is bent to **** where I must have hit a stump. It's not leaking but looks like a soda can was crushed.
I'm going to replace the filter as I'm assuming it is restricting flow and then replace the fluid that I lost. I have to wait until Monday to get the filter.
Hopefully this will fix it.
I'm really amazed that this filter isn't protect with a skid plate.

I replaced the hydraulic filter and had enough UDT-2 hydraulic oil to fill up to the bottom of the dipstick. The adjustment dial under the seat didn't help.

The 3 pt still won't raise or lower. I'm wondering if I have add more oil?

Should be a sight glass somewhere I would think that lets you see the hydraulic fluid level (or check your manual to see how to check the level)

Does the 3 pt move without anything hooked up to it?

Does the tractor operate normally if you drive it with the mower not lifted?

Now I feel like an idiot. The adjustment knob under the seat turned but once I hit resistance I thought I was hitting the end. Maybe it was the fact that I now put hydraulic fluid in but I turned it past the resistance and the 3 pt lowered and raised. And I did have the rotary cutter on back the entire time.

The hydraulic oil filter needed to be changed anyway and I did have a loose connection.

Now I need to build some type of cage around the filter and valve so it doesn't get damaged again.

It was probably low or restricted on hydraulic fluid. As well, there was probably some air trapped in the system. Glad it's fixed.

Like sixdogs says, maybe you had air in your system - from having the filter get mashed.

I’ve had my tractor since 2007 or so and I’ve never even touched my 3pt adjustment knob.

I have to fiddle with mine for different implements. My rotary cutter is pretty heavy, so I have to up the flow, but when I use my dad's light grader blade it moves to fast and jerky so I slow it down.
