After owning my bx 25 for so long I thought I would give a small review of what I love/hate about the tractor and yes after hitting a rock with the rear trasfercase she is officially **** up.What I have accomlished with this machine is nothing short of amazement I cleared almost 2 acres moving brush rock and leveling the land. I ran into the hst fan issue first and replaced that along with some homemade skid plate.I then ran into alot of issues with all the saftey limits that I have since all bipassed.I have a 4 foot box blade that works amazing and have just recently added a homemade thumb to the backhoe that really works well for moving heavy brush and stumps.
Now looking back I should have bought into a bigger machine made for woods work per say.The machine will do it but if you have my luck then your going to break things trust me spend the extra do and upgrade that is my biggest adivce I mean if your going to just mow your lawn plow some snow great but when ya get into lumbering your going to want ground clearance.
I just learned this the hard way and I was being very careful I never abuse the machine but def push it to its limits.
Right now I`m looking a huge spilit rear dif and no JB weld won `t work and I`m thinking of trying to find a good welder but aluminum can be tricky to weld. The other option is replace the part for 1000 not too mention labour seals miscellanies stuff so I would say if I could get the rear hst unit out myself I might get a bill for 2000 but leave it all too them and I d say Im looking at a 3000 bill.
I still love the tractor but save yourself alot of headaches really go bigger if ya can at the time when I bought the machine I couldn`t afford the extra 10 15 gs for what I should have bought.
