30\" dirt scoop on 2200

I just picked up my dirt scoop on saturday and couldn't wait to try it out. The lower links fit fine but the top link is about 2" too long..(came w/tractor). I'm thinking of just cutting it down and re-welding it.....I would need any eye to eye length of about 12 1/2 ". Any similar situations or suggestions. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif (ps it's a linebach)

Someone recently reported a similar problem with the top link they received with their BX...and it turned out the dealer gave them the wrong one. Before you start chopping away, check to find out if you have the correct top link for your tractor.

The top link on my 2200 is adjustable like a turnbuckle. Looks like they might have put the wrong one one you machine.

As JBecker pointed out, when I received my new BX1800 a few weeks ago the dealer inadvertantly put a B7500 top link on it. The 7500 link is about 2" longer than the BX. This may be your problem as well.

Well, I looked all over and checked a few local dealers,and either every bx I looked a is wrong or the're all right! Either way I had my top link hacked down about 2" at the local fab shop.closed eye to eye is now 11 1/2". I ran down home during lunch and threw it on the tractor and it works perfect. It still will open up to 17-18" so that should work fine for my needs. Just call me stubby /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
