3005 rockshaft control lever

The lift control lever on my 3005 is kind of hard to move when raising or lowering the 3pt arms. Is there an adjustment to lessen the friction? I looked up the parts diagram on deere website, but the parts list didn't give any indication of a friction disc or washer on the assembly. The owners manual has no information on it either. It doesn't bother me when I'm using the finishing mower, but when using a cultivator or harrow it is frustrating. Oh, and I really hate the sway chain turnbuckles they put on that tractor. That is the only negative thing I have found with it. It turned 5 years old this week and I forgot to throw it a party.:laughing:

I can't look in JDP right now, but there is usually a set of friction washers that can be adjusted with one bolt or nut. Have you tried lubricating the linkages? Fluid Film is great for that.

I made a set of sway bars for mine as I also hated the turnbuckle system. Off the shelf bars from tractor supply cut in the middle, overlaped to fit and welded with some minor bends to fit right and now things are nice and solid out back. You do have to remove the outter plate and threaded part but I goes back on Iin minutes if needed. No tools needed.

Adjusting bolt #2 should adjust the tension.

After a closer look at the diagram, item#6 looks like a friction washer assembly.

Bolts #2 and nuts #3 are the adjustments. I backed off 2 flats on bolt #2 after loosening locknuts #3 and every thing was good. Two 12MM wrenches and small hands are needed.
