Hit the shop this morning early, finished my tool box and chain setup.
$14 in two cans of paint, with left overs.
$20 in steel
$20 for the u bolt kit, just bought another canopy top mount kit. 2x3 rop.
$60 for the limited tool box, nice steel by the way, its heavyier than my craftsman that looks the same.

6 hours of work, getting the angle right for the ROP was a little tricky if you decide to do this because its also off camber and of course angled. I made a cross member out of wood first then used it for the steel referance.

Hope you like the chain idea, bad comments also welcome. ;)

Nice work you do there. Looks handy, and if it isn't then you can just add or subtract as needed. :)

Looks nice. What holds the toolbox in the support frame?

Just the back and front corners, If i roll over i might get a head full of tools. But its in there snug, I wanted to be able to remove the box.

Looks like a factory install. You should sent it to John Deere and ask for Royalties when they put it on all tractors.

One of those $0.99 rubber cargo straps ought to hold it in there tight even when bouncing or even upside down.

Well Done! I like the chain carrier idea too.

I made a similar set-up for my 790 when I owned it.....and it sure was handy. I realize how tricky it is to get the proper relationships of the "bracketrey" due to all the compound angles - nice job.

I wish for one on my current tractor....but get along with the fender box. I do wish some enterprising person would offer bolt-on kits for popular tractor models.

OH....BTW....not sure if you travel on the roadways.....but, if so, you may want to get a slow-moving-vehicle bracket (bracket and "pocket") so you can mount same on your tool box. They have the bracket at farm stores.

Thanks ! I was surprised that no aftermarket box mounts were available.
