I was wondering if some people here can show me some picture of their (specific-ly) of there 3000 series CAB Tractor with the Optional 3rd funtion hydraulic couplers...

Reason I want to know, is because I'm still convinced my service manager doesn't know how the plate holding the couplers is supposed to be installed. I swear my 3rd function coupler bracket plate is upside down... because my loader hoses can't plug in to their couplers without interference from the 3rd function couplers...

The loader hose male head is supposed to plug in with the hose heading upward from the coupler, not downward...(so I don't get tire rubs)...

You should see how they have the hoses set up on this now... there must be 15 zip ties trying to hold the hoses back away from the right tire...

They were closed when I inspected the tractor out in their yard tonight...

Please somebody help me prove them wrong so I can print a picture and show him how it goes..

thanks,

Jason

Jason:

How about a picture of how the dealer botched the job? Also, go to the service department and ask for the instructions for installing the kit as that should show proper orientation. If they won't print out the instructions, can you go to another dealer?

Another thought is to look at the JD Parts web site and search for 3rd SCV kit for your tractor as the illustrations should give you your answer.

When I was deciding whether to get extra SCV's for my rig, I went to the service department and they printed out the instructions as they aren't online for owners to access. Since I couldn't afford to have the dealer do the installation, I wanted to make sure that I felt I could do the work myself.

Hi,

I do not have a third hydraulic function to the front so i can't comment on the connector plate.

The hoses from 90 degree hydraulic connectors should point upwards as you say.

You or the dealer only has to loosen the connectors where the hoses attach to the hard tubes on the loader arm, rotate each hose 180 degrees, retighten & maybe replace the zip ties.

I fully intend to do this on mine some day & have more zip ties on today's shopping list :)

Also check under the machine & make sure the power steering hoses are not rubbing on the front PTO shaft, more zip ties.

Although the zip ties may look unprofessional on a new (expensive) machine they work well.

Stay warm

Jason, pages 45-7 and 45-8 of the 300 thru 300cx loader operators manual show the quick connects pointing up. Not sure how new this version is? Here's a pic from that manual, it shows the loader hoses and the 3rd function ports and hoses. I would get you some pics of my 3520/300cx but I won't have the loader back on until spring.

Sincerely, Dirt

I have an open station but it should be the same. My hoses lay pretty well against the loader frame.

Thanks for the pics.... Dan my plate looks totally different from yours... If I had my machine here I would take a picture of it... The way mine is set up, the curl in the loader hoses have to have a downward curve... instead of the upward curve like I think is the correct way of pluggin' so we don't get tire rub...

Jason, here is a pic of the 3rd function bracket on my 3520 cab. Is yours different than this one too? Don't pay any attention to the SCV hose fitting as they are on my 390 front blade and not the loader. I turn the blade fittings down.

Sincerely, Dirt

They should be up above the other 4 . That is the way it is on my unit. I also thing it was that way on my 4310.
