two john deere Sabres (2554-Scotts) and 4410 john deere ,Allis Chalmers WD , 5' Cub Cadet Zero turn
I have a 2002 John Deere 4410 e-hydro with a loader controller (joystick) and quick disconnects. I ordered a new 300cx loader from my local John Deere dealer and was told it would come in for my purchase approx 4' cube over 1000lbs. My tractor still has rubber plugs on the sides where the side mounts go. I am sure I can tighten four bolts that hold both side mounts on. The front hood/bumper guard I feel can be a quick asm and four more bolts on to the front frame.

My question is how hard is the arms and hydro hoses to asm and get into position to mount on my JD4410? The bucket when I am finished should snap fit on front of the loader.

Has anyone assembled a crate of loader parts and made a loader? Any tips?
THANKS---Fuseboxer

This will be a very easy procedure. The loader will come on a pallet bolted down. The hardest part will to offload at your place. The mounting frames will take just a few minutes, wife may need to support while you place bolts, its akward and heavy. The hoodguard is just 6 bolts to the frame and a couple on the guard itself. As far as the hoses its about a 15 minute procedure. Wrap the lines with the mesh(slide them tru) then you would tighten them to the loader lines( they are color coded). As a prior J.D. salesmen in a unique setting I did alot of my setups myself( this was $ in comm). My wife helped me alot, she!!!! could do it in about 2 hours. The install instructions will give plenty of pictures and step by step setup.

Thanks for instructions and pep talk, I needed that. My son is many hours away so my wife may have to help. I have a cable over a strong tree that may help to unload or I can use a dump trailor and tip oudt the load. I have a chain fall in the barn but it is only a ton. Also the barn is small and crowded, I can drive out the two 25hp JD Sabre's Grass cutters. I have enjoyed the JD Sabre's for 10 years and do not care for my wife's Zero turn. Too ruff on farm land. I have never had a loader on a tractor, been deprived!------Fuseboxer

Is it necessary to leave the hydro hoses loose and approach the armassembly backward with the tractor to attach the hoses temporarly to get the loader in position for final fit?

I think the loader assy is about 600lbs or so. I have had these on a trailer and slide it to the rear, unbolt from pallet and lean it to the ground slowly. the mast are what bolts to the pallet and front of loader would end up on the ground first then slide mast off trailer. I always tightened everything first(hoses). The bucket needs to be attached to loader to weigh it down so that the mast will rise to install on mounting frames and rise above the tires. You should be able to connect hoses from the side(to raise mast) or it should be long enough(hoses) to reach quick connection, you may want to wait on the cinching of the hose(zip ties) hose assy until it installed complety. Again I think with the instructions you will be fine. Don't forget to buy extra Hyd fld.

I don't know what you will find in the crate and how much of the assembly is left to you. What is sure is that the 300CX is not very heavy and you should be able to move the components for assembly without too much difficulty. And when you have assembled it and connected it to the tractor's hydraulic system, the loader will lift itself to come into place.

When I swapped the 430 for the 300 cx, a guy came from the dealer and did it in an hour, removed the 430 and mounts and installed the 300.

This was not in a crate but I'm not sure what was involved to take it out of the crate. I've seen the palletized loaders at the dealer, they looked fully assembled just folded down as small as possible.

Good Luck, it's well worth what ever the effort will be.

JB, why did you swap out the 430? Is the 300cx that big of an improvement?
Just curious...I have a 430 and I'm quite happy with it (other then the left mast being a bit sloppy).

There was some advantages in the specs, the biggest being the lift capacity which is ~1500 for the 300cx. That was the main reason. It was actually not expensive to swap it, as an out of state dealer said he had people looking for the 430 loader. Can't remember what the cost was after the allowance for the 430 but it was not bad.

My own dealer never told me a new loader was available, the last of the 4310's were coming with the 300cx loader. and I was not happy that I didn't get the chance to get the new one. but they would not let me trade in.

JB.

Anyone purchase a 300CX lately? Wondering on price delivered to your door, as I'm looking to get one ASAP for a JD 4310. One dealer quoted $4,300.00, thought that was a little steep.

Thanks,

Joe
