3016 HST Gear Lever

I noticed near the end of last year and then again this weekend that it is tough to get the gear lever to go where I want it to go. This weekend in particular it would freely move between neutral and low, however, it took quite a bit of fiddling to get it to move into Medium. The tractor only has 75 hours on it.....is there an adjustment of some sort that I have to make to enable the shifter to glide freely?

I won't get back up north to the tractor for a couple of weeks, but I would appreciate any info for me to look for when I do get back to it.

Welcome to one of the foibles ofthe 3016. Mine is tough shifting like yours, but I find as it gets more use, it gets a little easier. Make sure the clutch is down and you may have to rock the hst pedal back and forth a bit ?

i find it gets better as I use it.

My 5035 was a little tight about 300 hours ago... Another thing, is that letting up on the foot brake a little will allow the tractor to move slightly and unbind the transmission or allow the gears to line up easier. If your transmission is holding the tractor on a slope in a certain position, then it may be a little hard to take it out of that gear. And the brake, if it is holding the gear alignment in a certain position, may keep you from going from neutral to one of the gear ranges. You can bump one of the HST Go pedals to help align, but you can also mess something up doing it this way. They are a little tight when new, but the majority of the problem is operator learning curve.....

Put some oil on the shifting linkage joints. This may help, I find that many customers don't oil the shifting, and 3ph lever linkages and end up with problems.
