Does the 3016 use an oil pan gasket or is it just some kind of rtv? I goofed and ran over an old electric fence pole and it poked right where the pan meets the block and slightly ripped/bent the pan down enough to cause a slight leak. . My dealer showed me the schematic and its not showing a gasket , just pan assembly. I'm gonna pull the pan but wanted to have replacement gasket before doing so.

Don't know, but I usually keep a roll of cork in the shop for just such tasks. Most gaskets I make myself-as needed. No down time, cheap, and easy to make.

I'd like to use whatever the factory used just in case later on I need warranty work . My dealer has been great so far but I wouldn't want them voiding it because I used something not spec'd.

A gasket? Either has one or not you said. How would they know it wasn't OEM? My gaskets look better than OEM. I save the telescoping rabbit ears that come with TV's and such, take them apart and they punch perfect bolt holes in various sizes. Besides the dealer didn't have a part number for it on the diagram, correct?

Diagram had it as "oil pan assembly" . Didn't elaborate any farther than that. I'm just trying to have everything ready before I pull the pan so I can have it back together quickly.

i looked at the diagram online and sure enough it does not list a gasket. Either this is an error or they don't bother with a paper gasket and used RTV.... Either way you will be good to go with RTV or make your own gasket with bulk gasket material.

I'm wondering if some type of under carriage shield is made by somebody for these things. If not, shouldn't be too hard to fabricate. Seems almost mandatory for those of us that bring our tractors into ground obstructed places.

after taking it apart today the oil pan only had what I assume is red high temp rtv for a gasket . So I scraped it all off , straightened the pan and used red high temp rtv before putting it all back together . I'll know tomorrow whether it leaks .

Look for identification marks on the bolt head. Then refer to a chart for torque specs. on your bolt. Steel Bolt Torque Specifications Table - Engineer's Handbook

AB, when you first posted this a couple years ago, I was surprised that bolt torque specs had everything to do with the bolt size and type and nothing to do with what was being fastened. Back then I book marked your link and I cannot tell you how many times I've referred to those specs. So thanks for that.
