Had a sand company dump 22 tons of dirt Friday so that I could fill in and level the deep ruts that have formed in my driveway over the last couple decades that cause any low-slung vehicle to scrape it's undercarriage.
Moving and leveling the dirt with the FEL was a piece-o-cake. I had moved about half the pile when suddenly I noticed that the hydro tranny didn't seem quite "right". About that time the wife comes walking by and starts waving her arms wildly and pointing under the tractor. I killed the engine and she said "liquid" was pouring out from under the tractor. I jumped off, looked underneath and saw that hyrdraulic fluid was EVERYWHERE. I couldn't tell perxactly where it was coming from so I had the wife crank the tractor up while I looked underneath.
WHOA!!! Fluid was POURING out from the hydraulic pump right where one of the two high pressure pipes connects. Turns out that the nut was loose so I tighted it up and spent the next hour tightening every nut and bolt on the tractor I could get a wrench on. To my surprise the hydraulic fluid still registered as "Full" on the dipstick after it had cooled down. Looks like the wife came walking by at just the right time. It took another hour to finish off the driveway project with no other malfunctions.
5.3 hours and all it well.
