3038E Drawbar - Redneck Engineering

The factory drawbar on the 3038E is so low to the ground that it's practically impossible to attach a standard trailer because the trailer-jack wont lower a trailer low enough to attach to the drawbar. The solution I came up with is a little rough but I needed it right NOW. I took a TPH drawbar and welded some angle iron to the ends to keep the drawbar from rotating. I'll probably redo it one day to purty it up.

There is nothing wrong with that! You may want to build a 3PH trailer mover later, you can even make it I-Match compatible if you have plans to get one...

That looks like it will work fine.

The ones i saw at TSC to keep it from rotating was $17.99 a piece.

The old Ford 8N's etc used to have two supports going from the drawbar pins to the center link support so the drawbar could not come up.

Remember there is no DOWN force on the 3 ph, so if too much weight gets on the back of the trailer the tongue will come up using this arrangement.

Here is what the support bars look like. These are NH, but they fit my JD just fine.
They are a must for preventing an upset. And they are easy to use and adjustable for any height.
