Spent a lot of time with the local Montana dealership at the local ag fair this evening. I walked away with some numbers for the 3040/3840 synchro w/new style FEL, Montana 72" rotary mower and 72" blade. The dealer also offered to throw in a couple of minor items including free deliver (55mi) and free onsite 50hr service.
Frankly, it's an attractive proposition when compared against an orange L-3400. The deal was with the Montana 0% 60mos financing. There is an additional 3% kicker for cash.
So, I get to mull this over for a couple of weeks. I'll be running up to his shop to push some dirt around. Meanwhile, what consideration should I be giving when choosing between the two Montanas, or even the L-3400? The Montana feels a bit more refined ergonomically. I'm concerned about the 3040's ability to drag a 72" rear mount over hills. I'll have weights, front and back on whatever I choose.
Anyone with some history on the Montanas you'd like to share? Especially the 3040.
