I'm looking at a howse 5' model 5100T for my 3054 with FEL. The hog's weight is 825lbs. My question is this a little too heavy for this compact tractor. I feel like the bucket will offer some counter weight but still is this too heavy?

I doubt that this weight would be any problem. Your loader should be just fine for countering. Just always be extra careful not to go across a steep incline as the weight of the mower could pull you sideways. Go up and down, not side to side.
A five foot mower is no problem for the 3054.

I'm not worried so much about size as I am the weight. My main concern is this too heavy for the tractor.

No, its not to heavy.
An 825 pound cutter would be no problem..

Yeah Vince is right, that weight is not a problem especially since you have a loader. I use a box blade with extra weights on it (about 720# total) just for a counter weight. my 3054 really doesn't even notice it! except...for the better traction /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Joe, I also own a 3054 and have the same Howse mower you plan to buy. I've been mowing 20 acres of overgrown fields on hilly terrain. I've always been nervous driving the tractor on the hills but I must say, the addition of the mower really stabilized the machine. It has allowed me to (finally) increase my ground speed from 1st gear slow to 3rd and occasionally 4th gear slow. I highly recommend it but also caution you to only go up & down the hills (never across). Also, make sure you stay chains are tight using the mower. Be safe out there and happy mowing.

JoeF you will not have no touble with the hog.I have a 5 foot
bushhog brand pull type.It is the heavy duty type,I like to have a 6 ft for i do some custom hoging on the side an in my
county there are not to many flat spots here,No problem
to this day.My lk3054 is a 2000 model.The 5 ft just don`t take
out my tracks good but for what i gave price wise it does ok.
Is yours a 3 point hitch or pull type,I like a 3 point better,But
the pull type is easy to hookup and un hook for me.Happy Kioti onwer /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
