3110D

Hello.... I am a new member on the forum so please take it easy on a newbie question. I am looking to purchase a 3110D and wanted to hear some feedback from anyone who has, or has had a 3110D and their experience with this model. I have completed a search of all the posts related to the 3110D tractor on the forum and it was very informative which has helped tremendously already!!! From what I have gathered from the posts the 3110D is a pretty decent tractor that is reliable and parts are fairly easy to get because the 3110 is common the 336 model. I am planning to go take a look at the tractor this weekend and was wondering if there is any key areas of concern to really focus on when looking over the 3110D? I am not sure if the tractor has power steering or not but will find out. Also I am wondering what a fair price may be for the 3110D? The owner is asking $4,800 for the tractor with a FEL. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the 3110D and if the asking price is low, high or fair for this particular tractor. THANKS!

Welcome aboard! :welcome: Not familiar with the 3110 other than what I have learned on internet. I do know if the tractor is in decent shape that price would be a steal with a loader.

Thank you to "grainger 12002" and "winston1" for the warm welcome, I appreciate it! As far as the price goes that is kind of what I am thinking. From what I can find the 3110D was manufactured in 1979 to 1981. It also has the shuttle shift trans which is nice for a loader tractor. Like I mentioned I am going to look at it this weekend so I want to be prepared to check it over well. The last thing I need is another basket case to repair all the time.

grainger 12002.... how do you like your 336d? From what I can find the 336D is the American version of the 3110D and share a lot of common parts. Have you had any major issues with your 336D and is so how has it been getting parts?

I would only add to run the tractor in all gears, check the lift with something heavy attached to see if the 3 pt has any drop. Run the PTO through all gears,try to lift a heavy load with the loader and of course check out the 4wd what brand loader does it have? I couldn't I iminage having a tractor with loader without 4wd.. O' the 3110 is also related to the JD 950 & 1050. I have bought some parts from JD dealer. Good luck !

agreed, move the clutch pedal slowly by hand at slow engine speed and listen for anything out of the ordinary. lower the loader to about a foot off the ground and shut tractor off, see if or when it drops and how much, does it have a single lever or two levers for the loader ? check to see that theres fluid in the front axle, look for any signs of moisture, again not really bad if there is but make note of it, check that it shifts in and out of 4wd, pull the engine oil-fill cap on the valve cover to see if there is any discolor there or moisture, check engine dipstick as well, after u run it around look at the overflow bottle from the radiator to see that its quiet and has some fluid in it, might want to pull the cap after it cools, remember its an older compact so there could be issues, just try to keep them on the lighter side vs any big issues, these are very serviceable and they work great for thousands of hours, keep us posted
