I've been looking at Kubota B series tractors, but I went by the local green dealer on my way home today, and stopped for a look. He has a new 3120 w/300cx loader for $19,000. Is that a good price? Are there any 3120 owners out there who would care to give me some input on how their tractors have worked out for them? I won't be doing any brush cutting with a rotary cutter, so I'm not as concerned about pto hp as I would be if I had large fields to do.... Thanks in advance for your help!

I also was comparing the Kubota B3030HSD to the JD 3120 about one year ago. Price comparison back then:

Kubota B3030HSD with LA403 loader, 54" bucket - $16800
BH75 backhoe - $5250
24" backhoe bucket - $700
Total Kubota package: $22750

vs.

JD 3120 with:
R4 tires, mid PTO, rear SCV, block heater
300CX loader with 61" HD bucket with replaceable blade
448 backhoe with power beyond kit, 24" bucket
Total JD package:$25500

I went with the JD package. After 55 hours of drive time on the 3120, I'm very pleased for what I use it for, moving lots of dirt around. My lot slopes at an angle and I use it to create terracing. It has never stalled while going up the slope with a bucket of dirt or rocks.

Go green and don't look back.

Hi Chuck,

I had my heart set on a Kubota--liked that their machine is basically "Kubota built"... rock-solid reputation... but I got a deal too good to pass up, and immensely enjoy this machine (3320 HST). Your quote is a pretty good one, especially in New England!

In fairness, the B Kubota is a step down size-wise from the 3X20's... you should expect lower quotes, weight, & lift capacities when comparing...

I have not owned a Kubota, haven't worked a Kubota, maintained a Kubota, etc... the Deere is easy to use, easy access for maintenance & checks, easy on/off for bucket & loader, powerful hydraulics for the size, and has loadmatch with the HST (something I hope other manufacturers bite onto--it makes the machine nearly stall-proof).

If I had the same frame size, HP, options, and quotes, and had to choose again... I'd have the same machine! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Grand L's are closer to the 3X20 Deeres. GrandL 3130 I think is pretty close to a 3120 Deere.

Last August I looked at Kubota L3400 and L3130 models then looked at a JD 3320. Once I got on the 3320 e-hydro and drove it around, the way was clear to me. (Of course it did help when my wife got on the 3320, drove it around, was amazed at how easy it was to operate and then offered to pay half).
I have used it for reconstruction and maintenance of a long steep gravel driveway and love the machine so far at 60 hours.

I got the 3320 up in Plymouth for $23,100 including: 300cx loader (with HD 73" bucket, cutting edge & bucket hooks) loaded R4 tires, block heater, Landpride LR1584 rake with wheels and Landpride RBT1584 rear tilt blade.
