Yea, I had the same problem locating the pedal switch. There was no external wiring or connections that easily indicated 'Here I am!' The orange company probably does that to confuse the competition.
I have noticed that the reverse pedal's rubber surround rubs on the pedal and hence prevents free play. I also had hopes of finding a zerk fitting on the pedal pivot point, but to no avail.
Now, after several starts without incident, my inherent laziness has dictated that I chalk this up to "new tractor growing pains" until the next event.
I hope your problem disappears like mine has --- so far :crazy
