3186 cub cadet won't start

Well my money pit has another issue now, when I turn the key all i get is a click sound in the fuse box area. The battery is fully charged and headlights come on but nothing else happens. Has anybody else had this problem or have some suggestions the machine worked fine when I parked it last week. Thanks again

holy smokes another one! thats what i was refering to my 3185 as before i showed it the door. i was having this same problem. seemed to be a bad connection in the ignition switch. sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldnt. usually if it didnt start, id reach in, unplug the ignition switch, plug it back in, and it was fine. i cant understand these tractors. on paper they look wonderful, when theyre working like they should, theyre fantastic, but they seem plaqued with problems. ive had my 2072 for about a month now, and its now gone longer without a problem than the 3185 did in the year that i had it.

Highboy I agree 100% this machine would be great if you could keep it running. Thanks for the advice I will try to unplug the ignition and see if that does the trick

make sure the PTO switch is turned off. If it is left engaged (e.g., child played with controls, tractor turned itself off during grass cuttting, etc.) the tractor won't start... it will just tick.

thanks cj-8 it was the pto switch after all tore it apart and seems to work now
