King, relatively new to site, wasn't aware that you pre-screen posts for comments you believe irrelevant. I now understand that tin can construction may well be a staple of southern architecture. Absent infinite wisdom, some on the planet are doomed to simply learn as they go forward. Can't find "factoro" in dictionary, perhaps a geographical term?

Probably a mistyping of factor.
Looks like a "carport" type barn. I would label everything at each joint and take it apart. Good luck getting to back together, I would suggest renting a manlift to take it apart and put it together. That will make your life much easier.

my experience in salvaging anything is it always sounds better then it ends up........inevitably when trying to remove screws the heads will shear off which means if your trying to line the holes back up you have to drill out the broken screw.......how many screws are in this barn.......if you have nothing but time on your hands then go for it.......otherwise it will turn into a drain........buildings are for using.....not as an investment......if you can get a few bucks for having a building there great otherwise your value came from using the building while you owned it........Jack

I wouldn't take it it down and move it, to me, what is done is done. Do you really want this same barn on your new property, or will you make some changes on the next one?

Another consideration is financing the property. Raw land is just about the hardest thing to get a loan for. If there is a house, or some sort of structure on it, some banks look at it differently. You might even want to finish off part of the barn into an apartment.

Very valid point, and I have thought long and hard about the property value with vs. without the barn.

What you don't see in the picture is that the building now has electricity run to it with lights and a couple receptacles. That electrical feed also runs the water well pump which I am sure bumps up the value of the property. Having water and electricity is a pretty big plus in my book. That would go away if the barn comes down.

When you take away the power and water, you are going to lose much more value than you will gain; you also will lose some of the appeal of the property. You say that you won't be putting it back up for a while; what are the chances that your needs will change in that time so that you will want something bigger?
