I have a John Deere 3039R tractor with a JD 320R loader. The lolder has been detached in the barn for about 2 months while I had the frame-mounted 366 Front Blade on the unit. The hydraulics to angle and raise lower the front blade worked fine before and after the loader issue so the tractor hydraulics don't seem to be the problem.
When I tried to mount the loader the bucket moves fine, but the lift cylinders will not retract. When I try to retract the lift cylinder the hoses show pressure and the unit shakes, but they won't retract. I hooked and unhooked the hoses numerous times and confirmed they are in the right places. I also pushed on the end of the couplers and oil came out so I don't think the coupler is stuck. It was about 40 in the barn and the unit is very clean so I don't think there is ice. There aren't any pinches in the hoses. The loader is about 5 years old with limited use and it has always been stored inside so there isn't rust. The exposed portion of the lift cylinders are clean and smooth. There doesn't appear to be any leaks and all of the joints are well greased. I don't see any obvious geometry problems suggesting the loader shrunk down on one side while parked twisting something. It is on a flat cement surface. When I try to retract the lift arms they do move a half-inch or so and then if I extend the lift arms they extend so it only seems to be a retract issue.
Does anyone have suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this?
