I'm sure this has been a topic but I couldn't find it in my search. What are the pros and cons of a 424 over the 324? Is it just ground clearance?

Yes. 424 has larger tires. So traction and weight should be better.
I have a 424 and so far, it’s done all i needled.
I like it.

Had to make this same decision a couple of years ago. Went with the 424 for the larger rear tires. There is no other difference between these machines. In my case, I knew I'd be driving across my lawn a great deal, so theoretically a larger contact patch would distribute the weight of the machine more. So far it's been great. The 424 is actually a rather unique machine, given its size, weight, and tire size combination.

Interesting. Can you explain the uniqueness a little more? Is it larger tractor capability in a smaller package? I did end up ordering a 424. Waiting a couple of more weeks for it to be delivered.

Yes, I may not have seen or tested everything on the market, but it seemed to be sized right between something like an LS XJ series on the small end, and a Kubota B2650 which is slightly larger. Seemed like the perfect fit for my property. The [rear] tire size is certainly something you won't find easily on tractors this size. Congrats on the order!! I think you'll be happy with this machine. You'll have to post a pic when it comes in!

Will do! I originally went with a 324 but after coming home and walking the property again and thinking more about what I wanted to use the tractor for I came up with plenty of instances where I would be going off improved surfaces and up and down rough hills. I live on a mountain on 9 acres with an old road that goes down into the holler. Making it down into the holler and back up the hill along with keeping a 1/2 mile gravel road running down the mountain in shape is going to be a challenge I think. May end up getting the tires loaded too but I'll give it shot as is. Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to post some pictures.
