Tractor is a 1978 335. I can't find the serial tag for the loader so I don't know exactly which one it is. Looking online it seems the 730 was a common loader on these.
1. I can't find the hydraulic filter. I have a manual for the 3600 and it shows it being next to the oil filter, towards the driver. Definitely no filter there. I found a 730 manual online, it shows a filter inside of the loader frame but I don't see anything there. In the manual it shows a line going to the filter inside of the frame, I've followed all of those and haven't found anything. It appears the frame is being used as a sump so fluid is getting in there somehow. Maybe the transfer happens where they connect to the rear axle?
2. The hydraulic fluid change procedure in the 3600 manual just has you drain from the bottom and then fill until it pours out of the hole on the side. The 730 manual says to fill into the frame, 8" from the top. Do I follow both procedures or does filling the rear also fill the frame properly? It seems gravity would prevent that from happening. I have a 335 manual on order, it may clear some of this up for me.
3. The bucket slowly drops down, running or not running the bucket will drop down. So if I'm driving it I have to keep track of the bucket position so I don't scrape the ground. Only the bucket has this issue. The main loader arms don't drop at all. To test it I parked it in a field with the main arms extended and an hour later they were in the same position.
