I don't know the answer so I'll ask you a question. Could it possibly be the lever that allows you to put it into creep gear? You may not even have a creep gear, just pondering.

Its the creep gear lock out I think.

To find out move it and try to shift the trans into I think next to first gear, there will be another slot.

My 3810 has it and I think these are similar. I just checked mine and it is next to first gear fyi.

Its greep gear access, it has to be moved to allow the trans shift lever to activate it

I thought it might be related as its very hard to get the tractor to go into low,Thanks for the reply-2,3,4 seem to shift fine and alot easier to engage

Do you mean creep low is hard to get into or 1st gear?

I have found that also if so and sometimes if you put the trans in creep low it is hard to get out of gear sometimes and you have to let the clutch out and roll the tractor while moving the shifter out of creep if that makes any sense?

Its such a low gear most of us have never found a use but still better to have more gears than not enough I say.

I remember someone saying he used creep gear when wanting to see the seasons change while putting it in the barn.:D

We haad some Allis farm tractors years ago that had a very low first gear, used to set myb rother up there while baleing hay and had to wait for him at the next bale......The yanmar makes that look fast, its a very, very slow gear

I wish these had a road gear that's my only complaint I sure like the low gears but...

Mine will go about 9 mph flat out and I have roaded it 8-9 mile on dirt roads before and you can sure see and feel the weather change doing that! :D
