How does it work? I bought a 336d to put my 330 motor in and just got the 330's motor out and its got a double clutch PTO, the 336d has only one clutch disk. Does that mean when I hit the clutch no PTO? I like the Live PTO the 330 had ??

The YM336 did not have a live pto, but with the powershift you can put the tractor in gear with out clutching, so it can be operated like a tractor with independent pto.

I stood staring and thought for a while and figured that out, I guess with the powershift it would be fine. I am worried about clutching but it looks like I may not have too, I have three acres of grass to mow so I may yet like the powershift.

So what about backing up? I have read alot of differing opinions regarding powershifting into reverse without the clutch? I already just about landed in the loader moving the thing into my shop and accidentaly shifting it into reverse, I have no desire to do that again

Thanks for the reply lens12

I've used tractors with the powershift to mow lawn with. You need to stop motion in one direction before shifting to the other direction. The model I used I thought would have been better if reverse was a little slower. I'd still use the clutch when using the loader.

If you are using gear range 3 and you are running at around 2200 rpm, the reverse is pretty fast. If you use the powershift, hold on, and be sure that nothing is very close behind you.
I've gotten to the point that I don't use the clutch very often. I mainly use it when I want to gear down or if I am using the loader (I have one of the one ones that has the powershift on the transmission case so it is a bit difficult to get my hand back and forth from the shifter to the spool valve lever).

I am starting to like the idea, I think I will keep the 330 and find a motor for it. I was going to part it out but I am attached, wish me luck finding a block.

I have some questions about the front axle on the 336, should I start a new thread or just keep going here? Thanks all :)

What are you going to do again its not clear part one out or fix one or two?

Otherwise there is plenty of help here on that tractor ask away.

I have a 336D with power shift andlike it quite well. However, when using a PTO driven implement ( snowblower) if you forget and clutch and then reengage the clutch with out reducing the RPM's it will cost you a shear pin just about every time.

I have spent most of today playing...:D I mean working on the tractor and its not so bad, I have not ran anything off the PTO yet but I am getting used to the powershift and the loader.

It seams that the arm on the fuel injection pump actuates the opposite way to the old motor, as of right now I have no foot throttle until I figure out how to change out the arm/pump or flip it around and connect. :(

I will work on Pictures, though I forgot to take any before I tore the two tractors apart.

Anyone need any YM330 Parts?

Thanks for your Answers

I like the power shift on my 336d but be careful if you have it in gear and just move the power shift to a neutral position and then get off the tractor. If you bump it the tractor will then start moving. If I leave the tractor running and leave the tractor I make sure both the trans and the power shift are in neutal positions.
