Hi there. Introductions first - I'm in Central Ohio and have had our 346 since 2000. It's a '96 model with almost 1500 hours on it. I bought it with about 300 on it.
Now onto the issue I'm facing - Last fall, I started to notice a slight leak I the hydrostatic oil. Over the winter I removed the cover with the hydrostat still I the tractor. I resealed with black RTV and put the cover back on. I had a tough time putting it back in place and thought I might have compromised the new seal. It turns out that it leaked. The second round, I removed the whole hydrostat and re-sealed it on the bench. I put it back in today and it's still leaking. The leak seems to be originating from the same area (LH rear), but I'm starting to suspect a cracked cover. I notice the leak only by the bolts, not between the main case and the cover. What are the odds of a cracked cover?
