3500 3ph

Just bought a ford 3500 industrial with 3ph
The lift drops after i shut the tractor off and won't holed
And jerks when up. Thanks

On a lot of older tractors you could adjust the draft of the 3ph. You may have a lever or knob around the seat/floor pan area. Also go on line to NH. I've used them several times.

The lift piston oring is probably worn out and/or (more severe) the cylinder is scored. The jerking or hiccuping is caused by the hitch trying to maintain the position after it leaks down slightly.
The oring is not really expensive or a difficult repair. The cylinder, on the other hand, is either not replaced or is $2000-2800 range. It can be sleeved by a capable machine shop.
