I just got a new (to me) 2005 model 3510 w/loader and backhoe. I noticed that it has check chains for the 3-pt that are something like turnbuckles. I saw a newer 3510 a couple of weeks ago that looked like it had a pair of telescoping check devices. Are these easier to adjust? I had a real pain setting the thing up for my rotary mower and it looked like it would be the same for each different implement I wanted to use. Just wondered if anyone had experience with the newer style check devices. Thanks in advance!

BTW.... I really love the tractor.

The new stabilizer arms with pins are easier to adjust, these are coming on all the new 10 series. On wider implements the turnbuckles can be hard to turn at times when they are close to the inside of the tire.

Are the new stabilizers retrofittable to the old drawbars? I'd sure like to get a set of new ones. The issue is just as you described.... very little clearance to work in next to wheels... especially in tightening the locknut.

From my own experience, I'm guessing that any such replacement with genuine Mahindra parts is going to cost a pretty penny. The guy who sold me my 2004 4110 had lost the top link somehow... so I priced out replacements: Genuine Mahindra and generic.

Genuine Mahindra Class 1 top link - $245.00
Generic Class 1 top link - $18.69

I kid you not. More than 12 times as expensive. As much as I would have liked a completely "stock" 3-pt hitch, guess which one I bought? :(

Doug, you aren't missing anything by not having a completely stock setup. I have my original toplink to my 4110 and a $15 auction special that was new. They are quite similar.

Oh, I know. Trust me, I haven't lost any sleep over it! :) The generic is absolutely fine and it was dirt cheap. It's more about the principle of the thing. It would be nice to have a matching set again... but at what price?

I am used to the "OEM rip-off factor" in other areas... marine parts, Harley parts... even certain Vette parts. Ya figure what something should cost and then multiply times the usual and customary "rip-off factor" and there... you have what it costs. I am a big boy and I understand that. I just wasn't prepared for a rip-off factor in excess of 12!

Other parts I've bought for my beloved red beast have ranged between 1.25 and about 4.0 in rip-off factor... never higher so far except for that apparently "gold plated" top link! :( Even the parts guy at the Mahindra dealership was openly embarrassed and apologetic about it.

Doug,
I bent both my check chains/turnbuckels while mowing with my cutter. Where can I go to get generic ones? Mahindras are $125.00 per side!

Any decent tractor or farm equipment store should be able to take care of you. If they sell 3-pt hitch equipment... they probably sell 3-pt hitch parts! Even some industrial supply houses carry 3-pt hitch parts. I personally use Tractor Supply Company (TSC) a lot because they are convenient and cheap... but I have seen generic 3-pt hitch parts in numerous multi-brand tractor dealerships. Online, you can go with TSC or Northern Tool & Equipment or many others (Do a quick Google search on "3 point hitch parts"). :)

I've found that if you have the 3 point hitch down all the way the turn buckles are almost impossible to adjust. If you can raise the implement all they way up it becomes very easy. I have the TYM T390 which will proabaly be the same setup you have though the tires will be different.
