3510 HST ignition acting weird

I have a 2004 3510 HST and the ignition has been fine until now. Today I turned the key to OFF and it kept running. Went between ON and OFF repeatedly, nothing. Pulled the emergency stop and it shut off. Pushed emergency stop back in. 10 minutes later tried to start, clicked but no starter. Tried over and over, nothing. Battery reading 12.5v so I hooked up jumpstarter just in case. Still wouldn't start. Unhooked jumpstarter and looked for solutions. Tried adjusting seat weight setting down. Started up (but not sure if that was the key). Ran for a bit then tried to stop, nothing, kept running again. Emergency stop now not starting again. Bad ignition?

First thing I'd do is to remove your battery cables, clean the terminals on the battery and the cable connectors. I know you said you had 12½v, but I thought that too on a friend's tractor until I cleaned the cables and terminals. Started right up.

If that doesn't work, try by-passing the ignition switch. If you're unsure how to do that I'm sure there are several YT videos you can watch. It's not tough.

If that doesn't work, then move on down to the solenoid on the starter. Try jumping it between the 2 terminals.

I have a 2810 and the key does not shut the tractor off . The pull knob is to shut the fuel off which kills the tractor, Mine is a shuttle and the clutch must be pushed in hard or it will not start, As duffer said check battery terminals My cub cadet terminals come loose all the time no matter how tight i get them.

Ok cleaned the battery terminals, applied conductive assembly paste, cranks up great when I short the starter sol or every now and then when I turn the key. Most of the time when I turn the key to start I just hear a click and no start. When I short it to start it, it runs great, no issues. I do this with the key in on position. When I turn it off, doesn't stop, so I pull the fuel shutoff.

Is there a way I can test the ignition with an ohm meter or similar?
