I have a Branson 3510 and it is stuck in 3rd gear on the right shifter with 1st thru 4th gear. I looked at the linkage but it is not bound up. It seems internal? Anyone have this problem yet? I only have 60hr's on it.

Thanks,
Rob

What have you tried so far to un-stuck it?

i figure its easier then insulting your intellect with what usually will work.

I am very mechanical so I have tried everything, shutting off , slow release of clutch while pressure on shifter, all other shifters in N ect. What do you have in mind? I have big shoulders so go ahead and fire away.

Glad to meet a brother..

Is the clutch actually working?? Meaning if you release it, will you move?

Also wondering if you got something stuck into the linkage?/ branches or whatever??

Tried shifting it with the engine off?

Sounds like you hit most of the high points..

Maybe try crawling underneath and tapping the actuating rod for that gear...maybe a shift dog is jammed....

If its new, sounds like a dealer call unless it's something simple. I dont like to mess too much with warranty issues, I'm guessing by the hour meter it still is.

let me know what the diagnosis is.. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My Century did the exact same thing except it was stuck in first. I was pulling my box blade in first gear nice and slow. When I finished my pass, I tried to shift to third and it wouldn't shift.

I brought it back to my dealer. He loosened the linckage and re-adjusted it. Now it works perfect. It really was as simple as that.

With only 60 hours, don't do anything yourself, have your dealer do it. It's what you paid for when you bought your tractor.

I just had the same issue with my 3510. I see this thread is rather old but I'll give the info just the same.

My tractor hung up in 3rd gear. I check all linkages and found nothing unusual. So I began the process of pulling things apart thinking I would have to get into the trans to un jam something. (Last thing I want to do is go to the guy I bought it from...he's just terrible to work with).

In any case before taking the cover off the tranny I decided to see if I could gently tap the linkage. Well on little tap on the linkage near the gear shift and she popped right back into place. My machne has about 108 hrs on it and it never happened before.

If you see this I would really like to know if this happened to you more than the one time.
