Used my 3520 300CX FEL, Frontier 72" HD Rear Blade R4's pushing snow yesterday and I was very pleased with how the tractor performed. We had 6 inches of snow which isn't much but combine that with 40 mph winds across flat open fields and you have a problem. I had 4 foot high drifts to deal with when I got home from work but I knew the problem solver was in the shed just waiting to get into action.
I have an area in front of my two car garage, to give you an idea of the size you could park about 9 cars 3 across and 3 deep, that was drifted shut with the 4' drifts. Ran the 3520 in 4WD in low range and scooped, dumped the snow off the driveway. This was the best option considering the landscaping layout. I did backblade some snow out of the way to get started and it pushed some big piles without a problem. I have a stone drive so I had to leave some snow and of course it got packed down to slick in some spots but I didn't have a problem with the R4's losing traction. Not loaded, no chains.
I feel as others have stated that you have to know your equipment and terrain then work with what you have. I made out great, was very pleased with the power and handling of the tractor and implements. It was a good feeling to look out the window later that night and see the driveway cleared off and knowing I have the right tractor to meet my needs. I'll try to include some pics next time.
