Price Check 3520 price check

I thought my initial moniker should be "eyewant2belikeNURU" since it feels like I am replicating his purchase decision but all fun aside here is my low bid after shopping 4 JD dealers:

In Stock 3520: ehydro, mid pto, R4's, dual/single scv, block heater, auto cruise, 1 rear work light=$19,390.00
CX loader, brush guard, 61" HD Bucket, cutting edge=$3,900
72" RFM (Farm King)=$1,600
Forks=$700
60" BB=$700
Total=$26,290 at 0% for 60 mths with 10% down and 1.5% financing fee.

My story: 10 acres, 3.5acres finish mow, yard will eventually need a crown taken out, raked and hydro-seeded. Other 6.5acres has lots of overgrowth & stumps to be removed, thinking of future pond/prairie restoration. Already have 48" agri-farm brush cutter and unknown manufacturer PTO tiller that were used with a 2wd JD 650 that came with the place. Initial thought was a used '07 3320 with 17 hours for $18,500. Drove both 3320 & 3520 at dealer. Equally nice machines but there was a just a little more seat in the pants difference for me. Price difference is $1,600.00 and I'm selling the JD 650 for my "upgrade" dollars; the dealer is offering $2,500 on trade.

Any options or nice little add-ons a dealer should include as I'm pretty sure I will request PowerBeyond at this point for future hoe, splitter etc...and possibly telescopic link arms.

If this is an open station, mine is a Cab, try to crank any of the quotes down a bit more

I think this is a bit high, seems like mine was 3500 and I have a 73" HD bucket, however I did not get a cutting edge

I just got a quote on a "new" 2006 with 11 hours (e.g. sitting at the dealer for 2 years) 3520 as follows:

3520 w/ 300CX loader, imatch quick hitch, and a 72" box scraper w/teeth for 23k even. 0% 48 months, nada down if I choose. The tractor has a little oxidation on the paint from sitting in sun for so long, and the dealer will replace the seat from baking as well. Otherwise looks close to new. Using for fire abatement stuff in Socal, removing stumps, etc. on 13 acres. He'll deduct another couple of hundred bucks if I grab a 60" box versus 72".

I'm a new guy so any pricing thoughts appreciated. Dealer says it is the same tractor as an '08. Is that true? Deal seems close to ok but I've got cold feet at the moment. I get the feeling these guys have about 10% more margin to play with but they don't move very fast. The thing has been sitting for 2 years. I would think he'd be more anxious to move it out of his inventory.

i would act like $21,500 was the best I could do, and that's WITH the 72" and not the 60" box blade. you wanted the 72" initially, so don't let someone talk you to getting something you don't want. ofcourse he says he will deduct a couple hundred from the price if you take a 60", after all you will be buying 12" less box blade. two things are at play here...either you are the first to show real interest in this tractor and if you play your cards right, can walk away with an absolute steal! OR several people have been interested in the tractor and the guy just won't come down on the price and therefore it's still sitting on his lot.

After reading your post over on my other thread I'll put my experiences here...

In March of this year I was qouted 20k for a 3520, 300cx, Skid Steer QA, 60" Foundry Bucket, Larger R4's, and a iMatch Hitch......I priced it out mostly for a baseline as I was shopping for Cabbed machines really...

IMO, dont hint....walk in, say "I'll give you XX dollars for it...think about it, let me know...etc.."
Just to give you an idea...found this one, 1 year newer...doesnt look faded, only 10 more hours..Yes I know its a 3120...BUT, it gives you an idea

Spudland Dave, that is indeed a great "baseline" quote. I also kinda like your negotiating "theory". For my set-up I have to determine what THAT price is of course. Even if that deal still existed its a substantially better deal assuming a high $1500 shipping to my location. Right now I've been playing the dealers off one another with redacted written offers to see who blinks between them first. Then I'll go for the little extras...like a hoe!

JBK: I have been dealing with who I believe is one of the advertisers on this site and they just took in a '07 3720 that is I think somewhere in the high teens (17-18) which is a much better price compared to the one you're looking at. Even with shipping this out of state place is my #2 bid right now so they are very competitive.

2YD that is a remarkable price. I'll do some hunting for that one.

The dealer isn't moving really at all. I've pretty much said "this is what it is going to take to get this done" and basically they've, so far, said they won't do that.

Regardless, more research and / or effort required before I pull the trigger.
