3520 rear pto

A month agao I had a post on here about my rear pto with no operater presence. I've tried it several ways and I can't get it to stay running after doing the procedure as prescribed. I am pulling off the mower deck to install the mulch kit this weekend ' does anyone have any thoughts what I should look at . I am thinking some switch isn't right . Is there a switch at the pto - there must be to engage the dash light right. Just a little frustrated guys - Thanks for all your help . Hoddykubody

Does your parking brake light illuminate on the dash when your brake is set? I used a PTO chipper last year and it worked fine doing the procedure the way the book said to do it. But a few months ago the parking brake light quit coming on when I set the brake. I haven't looked to fix it yet, because I sold the chipper, but I tried to get the PTO to run when not in the seat after reading your post and it won't do it now. I believe the switch to the parking brake is disabling it because the tractor doesn't know the brake is set. The switch has to be on the pull knob that locks the brake, because when I would pull the knob out the light would come on and go off when I pushed it in. Maybe this will help you.

Yup gogreen the parking brake light comes on . This is the first time (this summer) I've even tried this application since I bought the machine new. I will have the deck off this weekend and I"ll have a look around down there. I think my seat switch works because it works when I cut grass. I am thinking maybe there is something for the range lever or a switch isn't right . Anybody else have any ideas? Thanks gogreen

Are you in the seat when you do the steps to engage the PTO? You should set the park break, put in Netural, get out of the seat...then switch the PTO on.
