If you are using PTO implements, the 3720 would be the way to go. Other than the additional 6.1HP and what the price difference is, I see no other differences. If you are comparing prices with the Kubota, you may want to look at the 3320 which again only engine & HP is the difference between the 33,35,& 37.

Yes, the only real difference is HP. The 3720 is great for PTO usage like bush mowing or tilling.

The turbochargers are different on the 3520 and the 3720. The 3720 turbo is also intercooled - the 3520 is not.

Some time ago; back when I started looking at cabbed tractors more seriously - I spent some time checking out the Kubota's.

Specifically, the L5240 and the L5740. They're very nice machines. Price is very close to the cabbed Deere - 4000 series.

I felt that the loaders on the Kubota's were a notch up on the Deere 400X and the 400CX. Still do.

I believe the cabs on the Deere's were a notch up on the Kubota's in terms of fit, finish and ergonomics. Still do.

Much discussion here on TBN regarding the transmissions. I have used both and really believe it's a matter of whatever you're most used to... you can train your "head" to work with either type. Like working "Cat vs Deere" controls on an excavator. Personal choice.

If the smaller 40 series Kubota's are in line with the bigger framed 52-5740, it's a toss-up between the L3240 and the JD 3520. Make an effort to crawl around on both and fire up the engines!

To the comment about PTO work, I can tell you I have a Deere 665 tiller and the 3520 is more than enough to run it, even in less than ideal soil. I run out of traction way before power, so if it were me unless the 3720 was roughly the same price, I wouldn't opt for it. TBH, I still have yet to see one, actually. There are a couple 3120s around, a ton of 3320s and a fair amount of 3520s. If I had to do it again though, I would have went with a 4x20 machine though, just for the larger frame and stability, though the 3x20 is nimble enough to get places the 4x20 can't, so there are tradeoffs for sure.

Also keep in mind that the Kubota's are physically bigger...
