3550 FEL Joystick replacement Options

Hi all,

I've purchased a Mahindra 3550 which I have used and enjoyed for the past couple years. Yesterday I broke the joystick to the FEL. I was told this was not under warranty. If I have to replace this on my coin I would rather not go back with something that is secured to plastic. I found a two spool 12 gpm by Prince that is very reasonable.

(2 Spool 12 GPM Joystick Loader Control Valve
ITEM NUMBER: BB9-12239).

I've never swapped one of these out before. So is this the correct valve? Is there a better one for about the same or more money that is better quality and smoother. I'd sure like to here some voices of experience. Thanks

Can you take a photo of the valve that broke? I don’t know that model and it would be good to verify if the valve has a pressure reducer in it.

Check with bailey hydraulics . I bought one from them a few months ago for my old JD that was a 2 stick and he recommended a 21gpm 2 spool joystick and my tractors listed 14.5 gpm total flow .

So all you need is the joystick that is compatible with your cables

So your valve is fine (glad we asked for photos!). That is the joystick. The two lines coming off the bottom are actually cables that go to a valve that is probably down by the transmission and floor.

If you need a new joystick I would ask about a factory one. If you don’t want a factory one you will need to find out if joysticks are interchangeable across brands- the ratios may be different.
