Started with a B-20 Kubota, then B2910, now L2800
36" backhoe bucket are they, or are they not available for the new B26 backhoe. A buddy of mine, who uses his two Kubotas to dig graves with decided that his old B21 was ready to retire so he traded it in on a new B26. He has always had a 36" wide bucket on all his tractors. Kubota has always had 36" buckets available every since his first B-20 backhoe he bought 20 years, ago and he uses them on his L35 hoes also. When he made the deal the salesman said there is no problem getting a 36" bucket. He told him to let him know when it came in and he would then bring his old B21 in and make the switch. The new tractor, without the 36" bucket he could use, but with the much smaller bucket that comes with it, would take him much longer to do the job. It been going on three weeks and several call to find out whats going on, he finaly talks to the owner and not the salesman he had been talking to and was informed that Kubota is not making anymore of the 36" buckets for the B26 and they couldn't get him one. They have a complete different mounting system than his old B21 bucket so it will not interchange unless some major fabrication is done. His dealer told him that they would have find someone to fabricate his old bucket to fit the new tractor. I find it hard to believe that this has happened, and if it has, why did they quit producing these buckets. A 36" bucket is the standard size bucket use in digging a grave and would hurt the sales of the new B26 if you couldn't get one. He's not to happy about the situation, but if he wants the new B26 he said he had no choice but to get the old one made to fit. He thinks that they were never available and the salesman that told him he could get him one didn't know what he was talking about. Anybody seen a 36" bucket on the new B26 hoes?

Woods used to make the buckets for the Kubota backhoes and I hear that Kubota is now making their own. I suspect that a 36” bucket on that small of hoe was such a specialty market they haven’t tooled up for it yet or decide it wasn’t worth doing. You might check with Wood’s and see if they will still be making buckets configured for the Kubota hoe’s.

Seems kinda odd that someone would be using a B26 for this. It does not have the reach that guys are ususally looking for when digging graves.

.It's much lighter and does far less damage to the ground when it's wet. Much easier to get in tight places. Far less stones has to be moved and all this makes the people in charge of the cemetaries happy. Most cemetaries around here will not even let the bigger hoes dig in them, and some still think you should be using a shovel and wheel barrel, which aint no fun at all. If you see a B21 or any compact backhoe around here chances are he's a grave digger. What do they use them for usualy where you live?

8 foot digging depth on that hoe.. I guess that leaves you some room to spare!

They use a big Deere in the cemetery down the road from here. Takes em minutes..

When my father died, he was buried in Amish Country in NE Ohio. Two young guys with shovels. Didn't take em long.. Used to working hard..

We used to do it that way untill we discoverd the B-20 backhoe Kubota first put out, which I still think is the best compact backhoe ever made. The B-21 is a nice hoe, but I liked the B-20 much better. The entire tractor was built like a mini tank. If the weather is good and not sloppy I could dig the grave, and haul off the extra dirt with a John Deere Gator in about 30 minutes with a B20 or B21 hoe. Thats at a good clay or sandy type of dirt cemetary. We have dug in very rocky cemetaries and it will take much longer and will beat you up pretty bad before you are done. It's not any faster with the larger L35 he has. They both have 36" buckets.
