I have owned my 3616 for almost 5 years now. I have had several problems out of it, with the most recent being broken stabilizer links for my lift arms on the 3 point. the links broke (both sides) a while back so I rigged up some chains for a temporary fix. I cant see spending over 400 bucks for 2 factory stabilizer links. So, my question is, has anybody else had this problem and went with a different set up? where can I buy/build/piece together my own set of links? I don't really know how to go about doing this so any help is appreciated.

Guessing that your anti sway links broke at the first hole while pushing in reverse.? If so, put it back together and weld and grind. It broke because that first hole should not even be there. (very weak point) I put ball swivels on mine. I hate all those movements that they engineered in there.

I have about 11 hours on my new 1538 HST and the stabilizers broke while brush cutting. Picked up a couple of ball joints from TSC today but it looks as though the balls are too wide to fit onto the stabilizer posts on the axle casing. Did you change the pins or narrow the ball to allow the lynch pins to fit?

Neither, I drilled and tapped the main pin and have it bolted on. The 4th picture shows that the pin was drilled.

Did you drill and tap them while on the tractor or did you remove it from the bracket?

I wondered if the factory pins were threaded into the brackets and if they could simply be spun out, stuck in a lathe for drilling and tapping. If they could be removed it may be as easy for me to make new pins that are long enough to be able to use lynch pins.

I don't think that they would do that, they appear to be welded in on my 3215.

Thank you for the post and pics of your mod to the stabilizers. I have had 3 break and i have only owned my 3616 for a little over a year. I will copy your mod, hope u dont mind. I hate the slack designed into the factory stabilizers also....
