I want to get into behind the instrument cluster on my Massey Ferguson 362 (1993).

I've pulled the top and side covers off, but can't for the life of my see how to drop the instrument cluster out.

The bottom half has numerous screws in the front of it, but the bottom half has all the levers and steering running through it, so pulling that out is no good.

The top half has the rev counter and indicator lights.

I've got a third party service manual, but it tells you how to rebuild the engine but not how to pull the dash apart.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks, Shane

Shane. I have a 362 and will be pulling my instrument panel out. Here is the description from my Manual. Instrument removal.jpg

I don't think it will be a rael probelm, bit fiddly but thats about all. I have a probelm with the FWD and Difflock warning lights not working. They share a common earth for the warning lights on the printed circuit board. If this board has burned or cracked a replacement is not available. I'll have to resort to soldering accross the break to get bthem to work. hope this helps.

Well I am now the "expert" on getting into the instrument system. Removal of the instrument binical is not as bad as i thought althopugh you may want to remove the steering wheel using a steering wheel puller for easier access. The rest of the disasembly is pretty straight forward.

Now the warning. if you are going to play around with the printed circuit there are two circuits on this board. One has a common +ve and one a -ve run. Best identify them before you run tests since you will burn out a copper run if you short circuit. Not a major problem as you can solder a wire over the broken bit.

I found one burned out globe for the FWD light but the Diff-lock light is still proving an issue. There is as resistor on this light and I suspect it is stuffed. I'm guessing this resistor is designed to detect when the diff-lock actually engages before th warning light comes on. I am going to loop over the resistor and see if the light comes on when I switch on the Diff-lock. If it does then I'll probably leave it work like that. CeeBee
