Newbie here - been researching CUT's for about 8-9 weeks. Been all over the board....... tested MF's & Kubota's. Just about pulled the trigger on a 3130 Kubota HST. Montana has my attention right now. Rode by a local dealer to see what he had on his lot ( carries Farm Trac and Montana's). It was Sat eve so he was closed but I could see some of this inventory through the fence. It was getting dark but it looked like a 3644 ? was one of the models that got my attention. Have not been able to get any particular information on the R-series......... Montana's website didn't list them.(what's up with that?) Looked on some of the dealers site too but didn't find anything there either.

Anyway, thought somebody here may have some firsthand. I will be calling my local dealer tomorrow (Monday). He should be able to give me details.

What's the best term on 0% financing..... R's getting any 48 or 60 mos?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Hello lowAL,

I have about 6 R-Series in. The web site does have them listed and the specs are there for each model. Take another look at the web site. In any case, that is a nice tractor. I would drive it. The only thing is the 3644 is a shuttle. There is a 3644HST available as well.

Good luck.

I happened to stop by a Montana dealer today. I looked at the 3644HST. I really liked it a lot. However, when I sat on it I found that the pedals seemed very close to the seat. Being 6'2" this seemed that this would not be a comfortable set up for me. Has anyone else found the tractor bot to be roomy? The sales guy said that these tractors have more room than most.

I really did like the dealer. They were the first dealer that really took the time to understand what kind of tractor I needed. Most others did not even bother to ask what I was using it for.

I was also a little surprised at the price I was quoted. It was in excess of $20K with FEL. Maybe just a starting point? I was quoted less than $18K for a Kubota L3400 HST with FEL, and 30months at 0%. I was surprised the Montana was more.

It kills me when people try to compare the bare bones models Kubotas (L2800,3400,4200) to high feature Mahindra's, Montana'a, FarmTrac's, Kioti's, etc...If you want to compare apples to apples price out a Kubota L3430HST w/FEL and then get back to us.

OK, here goes...I got 3 quotes on an L3430 HST with loader and R4's, none were over $20,000. Lowest was $19,300 and these were all over the phone quotes.

Now, add the upgraded LA723 loader, add skid steer option, add two remotes option, draft option, rear work light option and and and. The base 3430HST is still not an apples to apples. I prefer the 4 cylinder Mitsubishi over the 3 cyl. Kubota but both are good.

The Kubota list without adding the draft is now$24,883.00 see Aldermans for this. You are way up there over the price of a Montana that still has a bit more HP. So, now you know what to look for in a comparison and when you have that then get back to us as I am sure you will see a vastly different quote.

Geeeeeeezzzzz gambler77. I really didn't mean to kill anyone with my post.

Maka, thanks for the information on the differences between the tractors I looked at.

Your welcome IndianaEPH. I noted that MDM has not responded and he has been on off and on all day. I would like to see you own a Montana but if for some reason it is not the right tractor for you and the MF, or Mahindra or Kioti or Kubota or Branson is then that is the tractor you should get.

The person quoting the 3430hst for the price he was first off appears to know little about either tractor or he would have given you more useful info that would allow you to make a fair comparison. In any case, my suggestion is to drive both, see what features both offer standard and then what is optional, look at the specs and get a feel for the dealers and make an informed decision.

You are on the right track and if you have any questions I am happy to do what I can.

Thanks,
Maka

No harm no foul...but comparing those two tractors is not fair and you don't know how often I see those bare bones Kubota's compared to higher end "second teir" brands.

You can't compare a Chevy 1500 work truck to a Chevy 1500 with leather and all the bells and whistles...but people try to with tractors!

Hey, I was just stating the quotes I got for a 3430HST WITH the 723 loader. Thats all. I'm not a dealer, and I'm not trying to sell a tractor, that's why I didn't respond. I'm not going to spoon feed someone all the info that is readily available here. You can search and find all the info you will ever need. I'm sure the Montana is a good tractor. I felt more comfortable buying an established brand. There is a reason why the Montana forum sometimes goes extended periods without a post, they are a new brand with a microscopic market share - just something to consider. If they are around in 15 years I may consider one. Like I said, I'm sure they are well made machines.

I recommend using this forum to get all the info can, as it will help you make informed decisions. Heck, maybe after hours and hours of research, you will "appear" to know something - like me.
