I've attached a couple of pictures for reference. The first one shows TWO drain plugs that need to be removed to completely drain the sump or you will leave dirty oil in the side not drained....not good.

The second picture shows a bracket that prohibits you from unscrewing the oil fill plug unless the bracket is removed. While I had the bracket off, I ground clearance on it so the cap can be removed easily. Perhaps the wrong bracket was installed on my engine at the factory or there is somewhere else that I could fill the engine? I'll keep an eye on this bracket so see if it is still strong enough, but I can't imagine that it has much stress on it.

Looks like some engineer had a brain snaffo when they designed the bracket over the oil fill.

Yea, the oil fill location is less than ideal. I used a long neck, plastic funnel and it worked fine. I don't recall any significant problem getting the cap off.

I'm glad yours was a little different. On mine, the folks at the factory had to over-tighten the oil fill plug to get the plastic tang rotated in such a way to clear the bracket.

Tymax, I am puzzled by your difficulties in changing oil. Perhaps you have a later engine than my 3720. While I do have a plastic fill cap at the top of the engine, my Owner's Manual on page 50 advises adding the oil at the Oil Fill cap at the lower right hand side of the engine. This cap is quite easy to use. It also notes that there are two drain plugs on this enginge. Hope this helps.

Thanks for pointing out the additional oil fill plug. Truth be told, I never thought to look in the owners manual.

However, it's probably a good thing I removed the plug on the top because it was overtightened so much I'm surprised it didn't break at the factory....it would've fractured eventually.
