OK, the big arms on the 3-point, I think they aer called the draft arms, are to be removed to install the backhoe. The manual says "remove the lynch pins and remove the arms". Mine don't have lynch pins. They have some kind of unique deal with a bolt and locknut on the inner end, and nothing at all on the outer end. I am about baffled. Any ideas?

Thanks for the exploded view! I am talking about part 28, with pin 30. It appears I have to take out the small bolt and nut in order to pull the pin 30. It just surprises me that I'd have to use a tool to remove a bolt. Everywhere else it is a tool-less operation, and was tool-less on the last tractor too. I will pull the small bolt and nut, that's probably it...

I cannot see how it comes apart in these pictures. Seems like it would be tool free...

You have to take out the bolt. It should be a 13mm wrench + socket. I was a bit surprised the first time I took the arms off that the process required a tool - but, that's how they come off. Just undo the nut and pull out the bolt.

Takes about 3 minutes per side to get everything undone and off the tractor.

ok. Will try tonight or tomorrow for the first time mounting the backhoe. Another thing that bugs me is the way the power beyond loop hangs almost to the ground when detached, to attach the hoe. It seems a bit crude. I liked the old way, where the loop came off completely. It makes sense that they'd "improve" the process by adding another return fitting and letting the hose hang so there are no loose parts, but I still would prefer it the other way.

I bought two pins from TSC (I believe it was P/N 0268810) and replaced the bolt-on hitch pins that Deere used. I did have to grind most of the "head" off for it to slip past all the bolt heads and stuff, but it makes for easy removal. I just use the cheap clips to secure the pins, so if you run through a bunch of brush you may want to use something else that won't just pull out.

On my 3320 with the backhoe on, the "loose" hose lays gently on the PTO shaft cover, perfectly out of the way and easy to retrieve. With the hoe off, the "loose" hose is connected and no longer loose.
