Tractor Sizing 3720 Larger R4 true size?

I have ordered a 3720 with the larger R4 option. The information sheet provided by the salesman appears to be inaccurate. The tire dimensions make no sense. He has not been unable to get me accurate info. "No one knows anything about it" is the answer I'm getting. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Can anyone refer me to a web location that will give me the true size differences between the two R4 options? Or if you have done the research I would apprciate your input.

The tire sizes indicate to me that the larger R4 is 16" wide at the casing wall (Vs 15"). What is the difference in tread width (the actual foot print)?

Thanks Chatcher. I appeciate the help.

The Galaxy site gave me pretty much what I was looking for. As I am just going to use the tractor with a box scraper or a harrow, the load capacity should be adequate. The ground can get fairly soft here during wet weather and I opted for the larger R4 to get a larger foot print to "spead" the weight. Hopefully it was a good choice.

Delivery should be mid May. Can't wait. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The manual is at least consistant. The "inside width" must actually mean track width (center of tire to center of tire). 58" minus 42" = 16" (the width of one tire). The info sheet the saleman gave me was way off.

So they're putting Galaxys on the 3x20's? Our 4120 came with Titans (8 ply, 17.5L-24). Just assumed they'd do Titans on the 3x20's too. And since we took a tractor they had on teh lot, I'm not sure if they offered a different size in R4's on ours.

There is a choice on the R4's, wider with the 4 ply rating, and smaller with the 6 ply tire rating.

The larger R4's are also a completely different tread design. I was considering the 3x20's as they seemed to me to be the best choice under 60" wide. In the end I decided to go wider.

From what I've seen looking around on the net, there are lots of different choices in R4's as far as minor differences in tread patterns. But I guess that doesn't mean the dealer will offer that broad selection sold new on a new tractor. They might be stuck with only a few choices.
