Got my 3725 back from 50 hour service and wanted to bush hog today. The PTO switch doesn't engage the PTO. I think I hear a faint solenoid click when I turn it to off. Found a mulit connecter that isn't connected to anything. Part of the harness goes towards the fender mounted switch so I'm betting that's the issue.
Can anyone check to see if this connector is connected to anything on their tractor?
Cruise control with switch in the same area does work.
I can get the guys who serviced it to take a look but not before tomorrow.
So any help or pictures would be much appreciated. IMG_20180805_113258725.jpg

Mine has a connector back there that's not connected on my 3725. Eight pin female, one slot not populated.

Are you using the "link" or the "independent" position? Link only turns the pto on when the 3pt is lowered. The position sensing switch for that is on the left hand rocker shaft.

That could have something to do with it. I just noticed that rocker switch the other day. Wonder if it's missing something? There is nothing I can see that would engage it. But, when I hit it manually, nothing happened either. IMG_20180805_133822734.jpg

Did you engage the PTO lever to the desired speed? Happened to me so many times.

Anyway, when the lift arms are in the up position, it will hit the switch.

EDIT: After closer look to the connector. I would try every electric function of the tractor. That connector has to many wires to be only dedicated to the PTO.

In thinking it is the rocker switch. The indicator light on the dash lights up so doubt if it is the fender switch. Had my wife operate the lift control while I watched the switch. I see now how it works and don't see any "mechanical" problems. So swapping out the switch seems the easiest thing to do next. I'll see what the dealer says tomorrow and see how long it takes to get a new switch
maybe it Will be as simple as that . . .

Happened to me once when the pto lever wasn’t engaged. It was in a neutral position between low & high range. Check that & make sure it’s engaged.

OK, thanks to all my TBN friends but I'm still blaming the mechanic who did the 50 Hour service !
Aquamoose, you nailed it. I actually went out to the barn to try one more time (before your post, but you got it) and saw the mechanic had left it in a neutral position. Branson has an econo or overdrive PTO setting that gets the PTO to 540 at lower rpm's and the normal which needs 2500 or so to get to 540. In between us a neutral. I guess the mechanic set it there to be safer when working on it? I never use neutral and so didn't occur to me to check.
Really great to have this forum to bounce things if off of. And glad I didn't pay $100 to get the tractor hauled in for "warranty servuce"! That would have been embarrassing to say the least!
Thanks all!

Funny how when you go looking for a problem you almost always find one!

Glad it worked out for ya. When it happened to me, I sorta went into a “checklist” mode and almost overlooked the PTO speed selection gear. I must have knocked it out of position. Now we’ll be a little bit wiser to check that lever should it happen again!

Just before sending the reply, I just had a thought,... I wonder if putting the lever in neutral actually will allow me to turn the PRO shaft by hand to allow the splines to align with the implements? If it does, it sure will help!

(Gonna check if it’s possible in the morning!)

Yes Aquamoose, in neutral the PTO shaft turns freely by hand. It does help for hooking up implements. I struggled one day hooking up the flail mower and then the lights came on. LOL
