Branson 4225H
Went and test drove a 3725H today. Not sure if its a 2017 or 2018, other than it has the old seat without arm rests, but they said they could swap seats if I wanted. Was quoted $32,500. Tractor, FEL, Rear Remotes to be added, 3rd function to be added, 6ft Land plane or Land leveler, 6ft rotary cutter, free delivery. Dealer is an hour away and been selling Branson since 2002. Any thoughts?

Went in thinking I wanted the 4225H, but not sure I need the extra 5HP. Think there was something like $2,000 price difference between 3725H and 4225H. Of course 4225H would have to be ordered in as well.

That would "seem" a bit high to me. I see just the tractor with fel offered in a few places for 25-26 thou. Considering the "extras" being offered are probably in the 4000 dollar area it would put the tractor and fel around 28thou. Of course different areas of the country have different pricing also. I'd check around your area a bit and see, then if you find it at a lower price see if the dealer will price match (or close). As to the difference between the two models I believe they are the same tractor but the 4225 just has a bit more HP. Up to you if you feel you need it or not. I have a 4020R and it is the exact same tractor as the 3520R but mine has a turbo for the added HP but I have read the "consensus" on the 4225 just has different injectors and possibly a different "tune"....I am just repeating what I've read from others on that though. Either one, both are very nice units..

There is another Branson dealer in the state that is 2 hours away. I will check with them as well. I know that I can go to Texas or Kansas and probably get a better price at a volume dealer. I guess it comes down to if its worth the extra money to go with a closer dealer.:confused3:

I'm not sure by the way you worded that, "to be added"... ? Does that mean that your price includes all that, rear remotes, 3rd function, and both attachments? Or is that price before adding the rest of that?

That price includes all of that being installed plus the two attachments.

It's not an amazing price, but I'd say it's not bad. If the other dealer can do better it's worth a try.

Did your dealer break down your price per each item, or only give you the total price for the package?

The price difference between cheapest possible rotary and a good medium duty one can easily be $1k. I don't know about land planes but I expect since they're not as common as rotaries and box blades that the price on that might be more. So that makes it hard to compare prices.

Are they including things like hooks on the bucket and loaded tires for that price?

Good point. My "approximate" figure was based on what it cost me for my attachments. Land plane 1200.00 (10% off for Vets so 1080), third function was 850 (but I installed it, easy) Woods bush hog was 1100 (84in) rear remotes was 500 installed, done when I bought the tractor. These prices are two years old. Sure, you can buy more expensive attachments, a flail mower is around 5 grand, a finish mower is in the 3 grand area but the "average" bush hog is between 1,000- 1500 area. So, is the 32,000 a smokin' deal, no, but like you allude to, not really to bad and maybe in his area would be considered a "good deal".

No break down in price, which I hate when dealers don't do that, but I planned on asking for that as I got closer to making the purchase.

He said if I bought everything I asked for, he would throw in the bolt on teeth for the bucket, lol. They only offer having the tires filled with Calcium Chloride, which I don't want and did not mention throwing that in. This is a small town, small volume dealer, so I don't think they really put packages together with discounts.

Good to hear that adding the third function could be done myself.

Greenfield, Indiana. Just East of Indianapolis.

Not sure but taxes and fees, but im going to guess not tax at least.

Most counties have sales tax between 5-10%. Assuming 7.5% this would be an additional $2500 on your purchase.

Typically when you want an all-inclusive price (taxes and fees included) you ask the dealer to give you a price for "out the door."

That's typically how I negotiate with dealers because I prefer financing separate from the dealer.

Quick update. Ended up changing what I wanted to the 4225H with rear remotes, 3rd function and grapple bucket. Contacted 3 of the dealers (1 instate, 2 out of state) for updated quotes. Closest dealer came back at $31,900 if I finance at 0%, 0 down, 72 months or 27,922 cash or using Bransons 6.25%, 0 down for 72 or 84 months. Still waiting to hear back from out of state dealers.

Also talked to another Branson dealer in Indiana. They had seemingly the best price, but started the song and dance of the price is only good until the end of this month and when I asked the salesman to email me the quote, he said it was raining and he was having to call from his cell phone and everything was down, but feel free to call him back to get the sale started. What, really!!!!!

That 4225 cash price sounds pretty good, assuming the grapple is decent quality. Some of the low end ones just use bolts for the lid pivots, no bushings.

It’s a WR Long Open Bottom Grapple. I did the math and it’s cheaper in the long run to take the higher price with 0% financing.

I was using the cash price for comparison purposes... similar to how you use pre-tax price for comparison as sales tax varies.
