Don't post on here very often but have garnered a lot of good information over the years and hope to get a little more.

I just purchased a used JD 375 backhoe from a gentleman that had it on his open station 3720. I have a cabed 3720 so the mounting brackets are different. No big deal I thought, just purchase the cab version. To my dismay no dealer has one in stock and the currently cannot get one! Shame on deere for not supporting a 7 or 8 year old product but won't get into that.

So my question, am I crazy to think I can modify the open station brackets to fit my tractor. They are significantly different but I am hoping that like most things it is over engineered and I can do this fairly easy. Has anyone done anything like this or have a suggestion for me to move forward.

I just picked up a 3039 with a 375 backhoe - it has a subframe mount -never saw that before but maybe you could get the subframe mount just a thought when i figure out how to take it off i could take pics and measurements if you need

Yes you can modify the open station brackets. I did this on a Deere 4520. I had a open station 4520 with backhoe. I kept the hoe and brackets. Deere said they would not fit the cab. 2 hrs with torch and welder and I had them mounted on the cab and good to go. I just ran across the cardboard pattern I made of them the other day. Didn稚 need them no more so I burnt them I think. I will look tomorrow and if I still have them I will try to post pictures. If you look up the rock shaft plates for that tractor open vs cab and you will see the difference. All you have to do is cut the top of the open plates to allow for clearance of the cab and weld on the bracket for the cables for your shift lever. The mounting system for the 3039r will not work with that backhoe. It is totally different. I will try to post a drawing.

Thanks guys. The brackets for mine will require adding material instead of removing but I don't see a problem with that. Sometimes easier than removing.

I'm wanting to modify it enough to eliminate having to modify the e-brake and i believe the range shifter mounting brackets. Thinking that I may need to move the whole thing back a few inches or change where/how it bolts to the frame. A little worried about creating enough stress to break something on the tractor frame/axle housing. Curious to hear others thoughts on this.

The 3720 must be a different set up. Post some pics of your brackets. May be able to give you a better idea how to fix them. Did your dealer put out a dealer to dealer search? I am sure there are a set of those brackets setting somewhere. Get the correct part numbers from John Deere and start calling around. I would not move it back or change where it bolts to the frame. They were designed to be mounted in that spot. Check with a bush hog dealer. That backhoe if I remember correct was exact copy of bush hog brand hoe. They may even have built it for Deere. Through them you could get a subframe mount for the hoe.

Have not uploaded pictures before so hope this works.

The two pictures show the open station and the cab version of the mounting brackets. A lot of difference between the two hence my thinking I would like to try and avoid some of the extra pieces from the original design.
