My 393 has lost its power recently. It runs ok but just don't have power. Unless you have the RPM high mid way or so it die when you let out on the clutch in High range. Anytime you hit a sudden load it wants to die and it don't seem to have enough power when under constant load. It seems to be getting a little worse everytime I use it. It has about 2000 hrs. I changed the fuel filter a few months back which was over due. I put a fuel pump on a few years ago. As far as I know the injectors or pump has never been worked on. I am not sure where to start. Injectors, Injector pump, Fuel pump, filters??? Any suggestions would be appreicated.

It sounds to me you have a fuel problem. Have you checked for water in fuel, how long has it been for a new fuel filter, possible fuel line problem (bent maybe)?

FYI, a bad fuel filter will still work ok with high RPMs (fuel pump pushing fuel), but at low RPMs the fuel pump can not push past a dirty filter.

Have you changed or checked your air filters? May not be fuel related.

I just changed the fuel filter a couple of months ago. It was clogged up causing a problem as you described. It ran well for a little while afterward. They this started. Does the low pressure fuel pump have a screen or filter in it? The last time I had fuel troubles the effect on power was slow in that the rpm would gradually reduce until it would die, however it had good power until the rpm's started down. This time seems different in that it happens much faster. The tractor will die very quickly.

As some said. Check the air filter. It can cause a drastic loss of power. If the air filter is ok, then change the fuel filter again.

You might want to check the fuel in the tank Charles, before changing the fuel filter out. If there's a problem in there it might be better/cheaper to drain the fuel and clean the tank before going with a new filter???
