Any suggestions for reasonable priced backhoe for 30-50 HP tractor? Only want to do minor trench work for water lines, etc.

Anybody recommend a Rhino 65/75/85 backhoe? Pros & cons?

I can tell you I had a Kubota 3ph backhoe on my old L2650 . You could not give me another 3ph hoe! That hoe had to have the supporting pins cut off each time I used it , if you needed to remove it . It just bent them in a circle . I have a sub frame mount style now and am much happier .

I would recommend a Rhino 85.
I've owned one for a few years now. Works real well, with no problems and the price was right. ( I have the subframe on my backhoe, which I also recommend over using the 3 point).

Kenny is right about monitoring Ebay... you might spot a Kubota 4690, which is their 3pt type backhoe for an L3130. They occasionally show up for sale.

Rhino, Woods, Bush Hog and Bradco are major BH manufacturers, all with good reputation. They have both 3pt and subframe models... again you take your chances finding one used on Ebay.

You can find some other lesser-known brands out there... might be iffy getting parts, etc. for some of those.

Sounds like you already know that the 3pt units are for lighter duty...may also be somewhat less costly than the subframe BH's.

Thanks for responses.
The reason I was looking at 3pt was I can easily use on different tractors. If it would only be for 1 tractor, than I would want the subframe. Also, It's for light duty work. I've got a few small projects i've been either putting off (or doing incorrectly) because of not having a hoe. I have borrowed a big hoe in the past, but it's hard to borrow, and I understand people not wanting to loan out expensive equipment to a rookie like me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Like a loader, once you have one, you find a million reasons to use it.
