I have a bx 2200 with a front blade attachment, I'm thinking of making a rear mounted bucket. Something small like a bobcat size bucket, just for moving around small piles of gravel or dirt, ect. I don't really need it to dig, my blade can handle that. If I use a hyd top link I could lift and dump, I think it would be really handy to have and cheap to do. Any ideas or comments are welcome.

Ken,
I made a 3PH bucket for my B2400. It's 52" wide 18" high, and 18" deep. Don't have it on the tractor now because the lawn vac is there. When I take the vac off and put the lower links on to aereate the lawn I'll put the bucket on and snap a couple pictures. The most important thing on the bucket is the location of the holes for the upper and lower links. You dont have much room for error. Everything changes when you move from the top to the bottom on the 3PH.
One nice thing about it is, when you use the loader, the loaded 3PH bucket is a good counterweight for the loader, and you move twice the material. You don't always have to carry a heavy load on the 3PH. Only when you need it.

I've seen one for sale on the 'net, but I think the price was high, maybe $700 or so.
Look at my crude drawing here

I will post a couple pictures if I can find how to do it, never done it before. The reason the tractor is going up or down hill is because the bucket is setting on end on a dolly.
Must be one hell of a bucket, on Ebay, for $700.00. I would think you could buy a welder, the material, and someone to weld it for that.
Not too much of a job, all you have to do is keep on burning rod.
Sorry, can't find out how to put the pictures in.

507, Thats about what I had in mind, 700 bucks sounds like an awful lot to me too. I've got a local steel supplier who's got real good prices. I'm going to check this week to get an idea on cost. The nice thing about the front blade is that my valve stays mounted on the tractor, I just need to pick up a cylinder for the top link.

I saw a supplier who made 3 PT to skid steer
quik-tach adapter.
Seems like Kasco or ?
It might be higher $$$ but forks or
trencher or anything else would work on it.
But small used SSL bucket can be found fairly
cheap.
I'm going to build one this winter.

Kenneyz,

Here are a few pics of the rear bucket/scoop I built for my Hew Holland Boomer TC29D. (My tank mount is also shown.) The scoop has really worked well in moving all sorts of stones (including barn stone & bolders), gravel, dirt, debris, etc. I dug out and lowered an area by 6" to fill with gravel for a new storage barn.

This thing has saved me untold hours of work, and replaced it with easy fun and satisfaction. Nothing like the right tool at the right time. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

one more pic . . . The scoop has a release handle that I pull from the seat of the tractor (by attached rope), and once it is released, I lower and move forward at the same time and the scoop re-connects in the release so I can raise it to the full up and locked position ready for another push into whatever needs moved! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
