Thanks guys, the Brown design is basically like what I was thinking of building.

How about designing the hitch so that the drawbar attaches to the box blade using the lower three point hitch mounts (leaving them free to pivot) and then using an adjustable link from the drawbar to the upper 3pt link on the box blade. In combination with adjustable height gauge (transport) wheels you could adjust the angle to get the rippers to dig in more than a non-adjustable hitch.
