I spent about an hour brush hogging this morning with my B2710. Stopped for lunch and upon return the 3 point hitch refuses to rise. Fluid level is fine and its Kubota spec. Only 90 hours on the tractor. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any chance you (or someone else while you were having lunch) set the control knob for resistance to hydraulic flow under the front of the seat too tight?

Paul,
Unforunately I checked that out. The hitch refuses to operate no matter what position the knob is in....
Thanks for the suggestion.

BillA, do you have a front end loader? If so, wiggle the joystick to make sure it's centered. If one of the valves is open just a tiny bit, that stopped my 3-point from working on a B7100 a couple of times. And I assume you checked to make sure the 3-point lever is still properly connected at the bottom end.

Does your tractor by any chance have a lever on the back to switch from 3pt use to backhoe use? My L35 has a lever you have to throw if you take the backhoe off and want the 3pt to work.

(Just grasping at straws, as I know you probably are.

Bird,
Thanks. I have a loader but the control is centered. One thing I noticed while checking things out again: I moved the 3 point hitch lever into the up position while I had the oil filler cap off, and oil sputters out. Don't know if that means anything.

BillA - This does not sound good. I don't think I'd do anything else to it. It's surely still under warranty, isn't it? It sounds like there's way too much fluid in the transmission case and that could mean water in it or almost anything. Let us know what you find out.

BillA, I'm afraid I don't have any other bright ideas. I think you should call the dealer tomorrow, and like Mark, I hope you let us know what you find out, especially since I have a B2710 also.

Mark, he said the fluid level was correct. Wouldn't the splashing be the fluid being returned to the resevoir? Sure sounds like the loader is not allowing the fluid to get to the 3 point or an SCV control if he has one. pretty simple system if the loader works there is pressure, but that pressure is not getting to the 3 point cylinder....

Thanks Mark. I tried to call the dealer Saturday but missed them. I've sent them a fax & will call early tomorrow. My best guess at the moment is that one or more of the seals to the internal 3 point hitch cylinder must have failed. I will post the final story when I know it...
