I have a L4400 with a rear remote. I was runing a post driver over the weekend and had the remote locked in the forward position to act like a power beyond since the driver has a valve on it. When the remote was running I could not lift my 3pt but the loader worked fine. Is this some safety feature, or is there not enough hydraulic to lift the 3pt and supply the remote at the same time, or is it just how the remote is plumbed.

Not sure I can give you an explanation but I have the same symptoms when I'm running my 3PH log splitter off the rear remotes. I wedge a block into the lever guide to hold the valve open and when I do this, I can't get my FEL to lift or 3PH to lift.

My guess is in your case the rear remotes are somehow plumbed off the 3PH circuit and when open diverts all the flow away from the 3PH, but smarter minds than mine on hydraulics could probably give you a better answer. All I know is I have the same issue (except for both 3PH and FEL), which I don't mind since as soon as I stop splitting wood, say to move the tractor, I just remove the block holding the valve open.

What they said...ALL the oil is going through the remote valve and then back to the sump leaving nothing for the 3PH to use. They only "fix" is to use a real power beyond circuit for your driver.
